Auto Login - Introduction

This wizard page gives a brief introduction to the Auto Login recording process. After a short description it offers the user three options:

The checkbox at the bottom of this screen, when ticked, allows this wizard page to be skipped when configuring other services with Auto Login. Therefore when closing the wizard, if this checkbox is ticked, then the page will be disabled the next time the wizard is open. The page can be re-enabled in the users preferences section, under the Auto Login Tab. It is assumed that once familiar with Auto Login the user will skip this wizard page.

Go to Wizard Pages overview and contents.

Auto Login - Summary of Steps

This wizard page out lines the Auto Login recording process with a summary of the steps necessary to complete it. There are three main steps necessary when recording Auto Login data repeated here for convenience.

What Now?

The user is given two options in continuing. They can either go straight to the recording ready to start wizard page, or see some tips first. For new users it is recommended that they read the tips first, but at the same time it will do no harm to just try and get stuck in and work things out.

Skip This Section Check Box

The checkbox at the bottom of this screen, when ticked, allows this wizard page to be skipped when configuring other services with Auto Login. Therefore when closing the wizard, if this checkbox is ticked, then the page will be disabled the next time the wizard is open. Auto Login - Ready to Start

This wizard page is the actual start page for the Auto Login recording process. The recording process steps are again outlined very briefly to remind the user and at the bottom of the page is a brief introduction to Network dialog logins. There are two buttons available to continue:

Button

Description

Start Web Browser - >
This button will open a new Web Browser which is being monitored by EPM for user actions. The user must log in through this web browser (that opens) in order for EPM to notice the users actions. The web browser will open at the web page as defined in the "Web URL" field of the service, or if this is empty, the web browsers default home page. If it is an invalid Web URL then the user can type in a new web address to the browsers web address bar which could perhaps be the home page or login page of the service being configured.
Network Login Info
Pressing this button takes the user to an extra wizard page that provides information on Network Dialog boxes which are older types of web page security features. For more information see the next wizard help page below.

Auto Login - Network Dialog Information

The Network Dialog wizard page provides information about the nature of Network Dialog boxes. More detailed information is provided below.

Introduction to Network Dialogs.

A Network Dialog box looks like the image shown below. Web sites that use this type or earlier password system, require a slightly different Auto Login recording process then HTML Web Page Login Type (The most common type of web login). All EPM needs to know for Network Dialog websites, is the Web address of where it appears, and the Username and Password required.

Configuring Network Dialog Auto Login

To record Network dialog Auto Login information, the user proceeds at first as normal. Therefore, the Auto Login Recording status panel will be displayed and a new web browser will be opened. But when the user encounters the Network Dialog prompt from a web site, then need to press the "Network Dialog" button on the status bar to alert EPM to the fact.

Auto Login will then proceed to the Auto Login awaiting Network Dialog Login Page. See the link for more details on what happens next.

Go to Wizard Pages overview and contents.

Auto Login - Recording Panel

When this panel is displayed it means you are in the process of actually recording the Auto Login Data. Therefore a web browser has been opened which EPM is monitoring. The status panel has an information bar that updates to display the current status of the Login monitoring process.
