Global Preferences

The Global Preferences window allows you to change preference settings that effect all users of Easy Password Manager. You can change the following items:

System Tray Icon

This option determines whether or not the system tray icon is displayed when Easy Password Manager starts.

The System Tray is a small area on the windows task bar. By default EPM places an icon on the System Tray that allows you convenient access to some commonly used commands of the application. Also it can be set to make clicking the system tray icon perform a certain action.

For more information on setting up the system tray then click here.

You can choose to disable the system tray if you prefer not to use it by unchecking the check box

Display Introduction Help on Start-up

This option determines whether the introduction help file is displayed when the program starts. This check box is checked when EPM is first installed, but once the user is familiar with the application it will speed up loading if this is disabled.

Display New Account Help Screen on login to empty accounts

With this check box checked, on login in to an account with no records a help file will be displayed because EPM assumes that is could be a new user. You can disable this from happening by unchecking this box.

Create New Account

This window allows you to create a new user account with which you can log into Easy Password Manager.

Choose Username

First you need to choose a suitable user name that you want to associate with the account.

Choose Master Password

Then choose your Master Password. It is very important that you remember this password as if you forget it, there is no way your data can be retrieved. This is due to the nature of the industry standard encryption (information scrambling) we use we means without the master password, the data cannot be decrypted (unscrambled).

Enter Information

Once you have decided on your Master Password, enter into each of the two password boxes. It is entered twice to decrease the chance of a typing error on entering the password.

When the account has been created you can then use it to log into Easy Password Manager.
